LADY BOSS WEEK- INTERVIEW WITH JACKIE COLLINS
Dear Jackie,
Remember when I interviewed you at the Indian casino? Well you can now read the interview online HERE! Isnt that SO exciting?!
Im sure you remember me- I was the lady who came storming into your office with a few magazines under my arm insisting on interviewing you. It was impossible to set up with your assistants and publicists and publishers and PAs and PRs so I though I would just go straight to the source, since that's what Lucky Santangelo would do.
In honor of this historical moment in time, Dawn and I decided that the whole week on Dear Jackie, will be inspired by Lady Boss.
I hope that you love the interview as much as I do!
Sarah

JACKIE JACKET JOAN JEANS
JACKIE COLLINS LOVES DENIM ON DENIM

Dear Jackie,
I noticed that you also have a thing for denim wear. Isn't it just so fantastic how versatile denim can be? I mean, you can allude to fantasies about Cowboys and Indians, kind of like in this photograph of you and Joan. She would be the fair maiden representing indigenous cultures around the world, pure white and untouched while you represent western civilization rescuing said child from whimsical notions of naturally living off the land. The cowboy represents a pillar of globalization enabling better individual access to cultural diversity through the export of things like Hollywood and, to a lesser extent, Bollywood movies.
However some consider such "imported" culture a danger, since it may supplant the local culture, causing reduction in diversity or even assimilation. On the other hand it could promote peace and understanding between peoples. Or perhaps it creates monoculture in which no distinctions exist and everyone just shift between various lifestyles in terms of music, clothing and other aspects once more firmly attached to a single culture. Thus not mere cultural assimilation as mentioned above but the obliteration of culture as we know it today.
Hmmm... A lot to think about Jackie!
Yours,
Sarah

DENIM ON DENIM
Jackie dearest,
As you are well aware of after following all the fashion shows in New York, London and Milan, Denim is the hot new thing. Especially combining your main item of Denim clothing with another statement Denim piece. Take a look at my newest outfit; I am now all set to take Paris Fashion Week with storm (I need to get a matching Denim cap as well!)
What is your favorite denim item?
Baby Jean,
Dawn

NEXT SEASONS COLORS
Dear Jackie,
Dawn and I were going for a little afternoon stroll in our very trendy lime and teal with, of course, a lot of gold buttons. We totally decided that lime green and teal will be next seasons staple colors. All colors have meaning and in our current global climate, we are thinking about everyone, not just ourselves.

You see, Teal refers to the Oceanic Blue Marble Composite Images generated by NASA, and representing the arrival of substantive environmental laws requiring specific protocols of Oceanic investigation on Earth while lime green refers to the wild life in the rain-forests and the envious public in need of action in addressing environmental problems.
Fashion forward thinking is to incorporate the synchronicity of humanity meanwhile effectively including the ability to relate spatial and temporal environmental relationships as well as quantitative analysis in environmental sciences. I am sure you would see our point!
Keeping it green!

TECHNOLOGY
Dear Jackie,
The other day I was expecting a very important business call from a client in Dubai; as you are well aware of I am the Executive Director for a huge International Firm. My Firm does a lot of deals with clients abroad so it is important for me and my six assistants (all hunks) to be connected and available at all times. This is why I am so grateful for the newest developments within Communications Technology. With just a push of a button, my calls can be transferred to a voicemail which lets the caller know that I am very busy and not able to catch the phone.
Little do they know that I am drinking Champagne in bed with a 24 year old Brazilian model. (I will call them back as soon as the sun rises over the Connaught)

Leave a message after the tone Jackie,
yours
