Dear Jackie,
What does Postmodernism mean? And where did it come from? We can find the answers to these questions (and more!) at the upcoming Postmodernist Style exhibition at the V&A Museum.
And this here Grace Jones image is the poster. I love them at the V&A. Grace is wearing a maternity dress designed by Antonio Lopez and the Rhythm Baby's daddy Jean-Paul Goude. Nothing says I'm pregnant like exclamation points and a hand fan.
Want to go to the V&A with me Jackie?

JACKIE COLLINS TALKING ABOUT ________ ????
I know that you can hear the audio in this video clip but that's because you are tuned into your past, present, and future. For the rest of us, we have to read aloud the following transcription. This is from when I interviewed you *so* long ago! ;) This bit is from when you are talking about Fontaine Khaled, my *first* favorite Jackie Collins character...
(cue: play video now and read the following)
"Fontaine is a woman who’s completely obsessed with herself and what she can get out of life. She really doesn’t have a lot of integrity; she’s out for everything. She is a consumer in every way. She wants the best car, the best fur. She doesn’t care that it’s not politically correct to wear a fur. She wants the best men; she wants sex when she wants it. To Fontaine sex is a game and she plays Tony Blake."- Jackie Collins

I HEART JACKIE COLLINS LIMITED EDITION PRINT
Dear Jackie,
Yinka Shonibare thought my print "I Heart Jackie Collins," was a great inclusion in his first installment of Yinka's Guest Editions. I was one of five artists he chose to be part of the collection. The other four artists are Douglas Fishbone, Bob & Roberta Smith, Mary Jacoob, and Bjorn Veno. The complete collection is an edition of 25, and on sale online or at Yinka Shonibare's Guest Project space in East London. Do you want one of my prints? I will be sure to send you an artist's proof. I think you will love it. It's rather lusciously printed on glossy metallic paper as if it came straight out of a heavenly magazine. I do hope you hang it in your gorgeous home.
Mwah!

CHRISTIAN MARCLAY'S 24 HOUR SCREENING OF 'THE CLOCK' @ BRITISH ART SHOW 7
Dear Jackie,
You know how in London we have The Big Ben? Well that's because pocket watches are totally out of fashion. But this month there is another way to find out GMT and it's at the British Art Show 7, at Christian Marclay's screening of The Clock. Marclay assembled 24 hours of footage from other films so that at any given point when you see a clock in his piece, alas it be telling accurate time. And this Saturday is a very special occasion because Londoners are able to view Christian Marclay's 24-hour piece all night long. So if you should happen to be stumbling around Southbank after seeing a film at imax or a show at Old Vic, Marclay's film is rocking around the clock, and you could just pop in there to check the time.
Down with pocket watches!
Yours,
Sarah

FRIDAY TREAT: COCKTAIL TASTING
Dear Jackie,
We at Dear Jackie have been very busy looking for the perfect Joan & Jackie Collins cocktails.
The Twinkle has gold sparkles in it, and it's delicious. What I really like about this cocktail is that some of the little gold sparkles stick around on the face and hands- its as if the drinker becomes more fabulous after having it, similar to how I feel after reading a Jackie Collins novel. However, The Twinkle has champagne in it and we know that you can't stand champagne. Therefor it's suitable for Joan since sometimes you can't stand her! We know how she enjoys sipping champaign with young hunks in her hotel suite. Perhaps you would prefer The Clover Club. It;s fuchsia with a creamy top and is also very delicious. They are both very Joan & Jackie Collins-esque because they are tasty, gorgeous, and never get old.
Will you and Joan be joining us for the party?
TWINKLE
An elegant serving of 42 Below vodka stirred with elderflower cordial, served in a martini glass and topped with Champagne.
Origin: Created in 2002 by Tony Conigliaro at The Lonsdale, London. Tony founded the fabulous 69 Coleborook Row in London's East End.
To make:

CLOVER CLUB
Bombay Sapphire shaken with raspberry syrup and lemon juice. Whipped into a creamy foam with a dash of albumen and Peychaud bitters, served in frozen martini glass.
Origin: Pre-dates Prohibition, The Clover Club cocktail is named for the Philadelphia men's club of the same name, which met in the Bellevue-Stratford hotel.
To make:
* 2 oz gin
* juice of 1/2 lemon
* 1/4 oz raspberry syrup
* 1 egg white
* 1 tsp sugar
SHAKE vigorously (more than normal to properly mix the egg and sugar) and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top with fresh raspberry.

ROBBERS AT ROLEX: PLAN FOILED BY KICK ASS OLD LADY (MUST BE LUCKY SANTANGELO)
Dear Jackie,
I think I found Lucky Santangelo! She is a 70 year old woman living in London. ITV call her "Supergran." On Monday she was caught on video kicking ass as she fended off a gang of Moped Robbers with her own little handbag. The lady prevented robbers from stealing luxury watches from this Rolex shop and now four guys are in police custody thanks to her. Buying watches is dangerous business these days!
The lady said, "I know I put myself in danger. But I probably would do the same again." It's obviously Lucky Santangelo, don't you think?
I will keep my eyes peeled for future Santangelo sightings.
What a legend!

THE DOUG FISHBONE ROLEX- GET ONE!
I know you are loyal to Chanel's J12 high-tech ceramic watch, but perhaps you might be interested in trying something new for a change. You probably don't have a personal stylist, and you definitely don't need somebody to tell you what to wear. I like that about you.
However, I thought this might interest you. Artist and celebrity (in Ghana) Doug Fishbone produced this limited edition "Fishbone" Rolex art watch. You would be one of only 8 people to rock this beauty.
"Is this an official Rolex?" you may ask. "No Comment." I says.
"Did Fishbone get a counterfeit watch maker to put Fishbone on the face?"
Now, now. Put your doubts and queries aside. You dont even have to think about it.
The point is, Jackie, this here is a genuine piece of art. There are only 8 of these beauties in the entire world and you would do well to have one. Fishbone has major credentials. Young girls in Ghana collect his used towels and never wash the sweat off them so they can periodically inhale that unique Fishbone scent.
I was personally given (by Fishbone himself) a pair of limited edition Doug Fishbone thong panties. I wear them every once in a while when I want to feel like a celebrity.
You should try it!

BOOK SLUT GWEN REVIEWS JACKIE COLLINS' HOLLYWOOD HUSBANDS
Dear Jackie,
Did you see Book Slut Gwen's review of Hollywood Husbands? I dont exactly follow her blog or anything but I do have the occasional "Jackie Collins" search in google and Book Slut Gwen showed up.
Anyway I like Book Slut Gwen's style. She doesnt bother with punctuation and she's not afraid to misspell and add in her own made up words. It has its charms and she seems to like your novel. All press is good press, Jackie, and this book slut gets your work.
Here's a snippet from her post:
Old Hollywood legend? Movie star turned prime time soap star Silver Anderson. A little big real life sister Joan, a little Shirley Mclaine, a little Liz Taylor. All awesome from the top of her amazing wigs to her Gucci clad toes

MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL, IS JOAN COLLINS THE FAIREST OF THEM ALL?
Dear Jackie,
Remember when you made Joan Collins' career a success with her leading roles in The Stud & The Bitch? I'm sure every time she looks in the mirror, she thinks, "Thanks, Jackie"! When Joan is wearing her famous towel turban in The Bitch, it reminds me of the evil Queen in Snow White.
I made this collage of Joan's face on a watch face as a tribute to Joan's timeless beauty because it seems as though no time has passed.
"Thanks, Jackie!"

CHANEL No 5 PERFUME REVIEW (HUNK)
Dear Jackie,
WOW! Watch this Chanel No 5 expert hunk explain what makes Chanel such a classic perfume. This collector is a true Chanel perfume connoisseur and has dedicated his life to collecting Chanel No 5 perfumes and understanding the chemistry behind what makes this scent so world renown.
"To me Chanel No 5 smells rather cold and aloof, so it doesn't have the personality or warmth of say, a Guerlain fragrance, but nevertheless it htas a distinctive elegant aura of most Chanel fragrances, and it is definitely a very classy scent that everyone should give themselves a chance to try." -domperrier
Who said Chanel No 5 is only for women?

ESTELLA WARREN FOR CHANEL No 5
Dear Jackie,
Did you know that Estella Warren was a champion Olympic Synchronized Swimmer? No, she is not just a pretty face. I love that scene of her in Sly's film "Driven" where she shows off her synchro moves. There were a few years running where Estella had the monopoly on all of the Chanel No5 ads in fashion magazines, I do hope she got paid.
I have a bottle of Chanel No5. I only wear it when I want that extra bit of glamorous. Champagne cocktail in hand, painted nails, hair done, high heels, and a whiff of Chanel No5. Its a great combination that gets me feeling saucy. What's your favorite scent?
I'm loving the run up to Christmas with all the expensive perfume ads on the tube. It gives me that warm fuzzy feeling to see those 20-30 seconds of ridiculous amounts of money spent on advertisement. Perfume sales being one of life's little commodities that makes the world go round. It's a piece of affordable luxury branding that even peasants can afford this time of year.
Merry Christmas!

PARTY IN THE COUNTRY SIDE (KENTRY SIDE)
Dear Jackie,
When Dawn and I put our heads together we think up really fabulous ideas. On our recent trip to the Kentry we decided that you should join us. We are so much fun we even had a dance party in the Kentry cottage kitchen and the dog joined in. Dawn was practicing her break dancing moves and I was very prudish and reserved in my woolen purple pleated casuals. You would love it. Next weekend?
With love from Kent
